December 10

December 10, 2009

Well, we had a sad weekend, but it is time to move on and get over the Gator loss.  We will be off to the Sugar Bowl on January 1…Tebow’s last game as a Gator.  Go Gators!

Gator b-ball plays tonight against Syracuse, keep your fingers crossed for win number 11.

Have to go for surgery on Monday and will be out of school on Tuesday also.  It stinks…so close to my 10 years melanoma free.  Just hope the surgeon sews me up well so it doesn’t look like I got bit by a shark.

Quite weekend…no plans as of yet.  Will probably do some Christmas shopping and watch what…no college football so I will have to settle for the Vikings game on Sunday.

Trying to keep the feral cats in the garage at night during the cold weather…the older kittens are smart and stay in the two babies still bolt.  I hope they don’t freeze.  It is so hard to watch them outside but they won’t let me catch them and keep them in the garage.  At least they are eating well.

Yeah for Tebow, offensive SEC player of the year and winner of the William V. Campbell award.

We are off to the SEC game in Atlanta today right after school.  I am very excited but very nervous…this is the best team we have played since last year at this time.  Go Gators!

Well, my mole came back malignent.  So I have to have surgery, yuck, and my ten year cancer free process starts all over again.

A sad note today, Charlie my mother-in-law’s cat had to be put down.  He was around 17 years old.  He was the only pet she has ever had, I feel very sad for her.

Snow is supposed to set in this weekend.  My dad got the snowblowers out and they are ready.  Hope the feral kittens stay in the garage.  They have all been at the door and ready to come in the last three nights.

Eric and I have been enjoying the following shows:   Castle, The Vampire Diaries, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, The Middle, and Gossip Girl.  Check them out if you get a chance.

Okay, so I have been slacking on the posts…being gone almost every weekend I am always trying to play catch up.

Spent the weekend at home for a change…Friday watched tv and spent time with the new guy Palmer, my 6 month old kitten.  Saturday watched the Gators beat FIU 62-3, had fun watching the offense go.  Also went out for fondue and saw the Blind Side.  Loved the movie, cried happy tears for Michael Orr.   Sunday cleaned the house and put up all of my Christmas decorations.

I am just as tired as if I went away for the weekend.   Good thing it is a short week.

Today I have to go the dermatologist for a skin cancer check up.  Not to be negative but I think I have a new melanoma.   Please send positive thoughts my way as I will have to start the whole 10 year of being cancer free over and I have made it 7 plus years so far.

On a happy note…the hissing is not as bad in my house.  I think the older cats are finally getting used to Palmer.

Had a great weekend in Fort Lauderdale.  Went to a very good friend’s son’s Bar Mitzvah.  I remember when he was born, wow hard to believe 13 years have gone by already.  It was a beautiful and fun event.  Eric and I even danced, with me in high heels!  After the event, we went to a friend’s house to watch the UF vs. SC football game.  Tough second and third quarters but the Gators pulled out win number 10 on the road!  Go Gators!

Tomorrow, I am taking the feral cats to the neuter scooter to be fixed.  I have an appointment for five but will probably only be able to catch three of the cats.  I hope all goes well.  I am stressing out about this whole process.

Need to start thinking up some good, easy recipes for Thanksgiving.  I will be doing all of the cooking.  Any ideas?

Okay, so I am officially grossed out!  Found out yesterday, that the yellow, bubbly rash on my arm is impetigo.  I had to leave work yesterday and go straight to the doctor.  My doctor is on vacation so luckily another doc at the clinic saw me and prescribed amoxicillin to clear it up.  He told me to stay home today and possibly Friday.  I told him I have a workshop that was already paid for on Friday and only adults will be in attendance.  He said I could go if I wore long sleeves and put band aids on the bubbly spots.  I have to take the amoxicillin for 10 days, three times a day.  So gross!  Don’t do well with skin issues that are contagious.

We are headed out to Gainesville, Friday evening  for the Vandy game, hope it will be cool as I will have to wear long sleeves.  Hope the Gators put up some points and keep Vandy’s score low, would love to see something like 42-7!  Vandy always gives the Gators a hard time when they come to the Swamp.  I remember a few years back, where we thought we were going to win big and the game ended up going into overtime with Gator fans sweating it out until we finally won.

Since I am home, I hope to get some things done today, filing, organizing and laundry.  Well better get to it.

Go Gators!

Getting ready for fall break…so glad it is almost here.  Eric and I are going to Jacksonville for the UF vs. Georgia game.  Keep your fingers crossed for the Gators.  We need a big win here to keep the love.

I have six kittens staying in my garage.  They are about 4 1/2 months old.  I have an appointment on November 17 to get at least 5 of them spayed and neutered at the Neuter Scooter.  Hopefully I will be able to catch them the night before for an easy transport.  Looking for names…so far only one of them has a name, LP because he looks just like our Percy.  Here are my ideas for the other five, (PC, Gus, Gracie, Griffin and Pixel).  Not sure yet how many are boys and how many are girls.  LP is actually from a different litter but took up with the other five after they were all abandoned.  Don’t know if the mother just left or if something happened to her.

Bought two bags of candy for my dad to pass out on Halloween.  We usually only have between 1 and 10 trick or treaters, so they make out pretty good.

The leaves in Crown Point are so beautiful right now…deep reds, oranges and yellows.  Fall is my favorite season, love the temps, love the colors, and of course it is football season.

Go Gators!  Beat them Dawgs!

October 13, 2009

Wow…11 days since my last blog post.  I am having technical difficulties with wordpress on my home computer.

What a great weekend had a wonderful time at LSU.  Go Gators!  Was so happy to see Tebow out on the field, great game only one mistake, late in the fourth quarter.  The defense looked incredible.  LSU fans were much nicer than they were two years ago.  I even got invited to a LSU tailgate.

Had a great dinner in New Orleans at an old Victorian house called La Parvenue.  I had two tasty desserts (split them with Eric)…bread pudding and sweet potato cheesecake.

Thursday I have a non-paid day off of school, which I will use to clean and pack for Friday’s trip to Gainesville.  It is homecoming weekend against Arkansas.  Looking forward to seeing friends I haven’t seen since the summer.

Hard to believe football season is already half over :( …so sad.  Hopefully we will still have two extra games at the end of the season.  I would love to go to Pasadena in January.

Feeling kind of bummed…Gators have a bye this weekend.  Happy to have the week off so Tebow can rest but will miss watching the Gators play football.  Will watch LSU vs. Georgia tomorrow.  Think I have to root for LSU although it will be hard, always hard to root for LSU or Georgia unless they are playing outside the SEC.

Went to the doctor…good news I’m not contagious, bad news still have the cough.  Taking cough medicine with codeine in it, doesn’t seem to do much.

Want to go shopping for some orange pants, must be very straight legged so I can wear them with my Gator jersey.  Orange isn’t the easiest color to find but maybe since it is close to Halloween I will find something.

Glad to see more comedies on tv this season.  Watched Hank, Cougar Town, Modern Family and The Middle last night.  Not sure which ones I like yet, will give them a few more episodes before I decide which to keep on the DVR.  Crazy little kid on the Middle…crazy!

Still trying to get over this cough…broke down and made a doctor’s appt. today at 4:00 p.m.

Great win over Kentucky but was so scared when Tebow went down.  Thank god he seems to be okay.   UK is always a nice place to visit, wish I could stay longer and see the horse ranches.

Go Harvin…another touchdown this week and another Vikings win.

There is a bye this week, so I should get caught up on my photoshop and tv.  Still have over 200 photos to edit from the wedding and football games.   As far as tv goes…OMG, Fringe is awesome.  Love the comic relief Walter Bishop adds to the show.  The whole alternate universe concept has always fascinated me, imagine a different you in another time making that other choice…hmmmm!

Looks like the fall weather is settling in Northwest Indiana, 60s all week.  Time to break out the sweaters and boots.  Speaking of clothes, are leggings still appropriate for someone in their 40s?  Please be honest.  What about leggings with boots?  Let me know your thoughts.

Wow, were has the time gone?  My last post was in August.

I have been busy, very busy.  Traveling every weekend, some for fun and some for family.

Football season and the new fall television season snuck up on me and are finally here and in full swing.

Gators are 3-0.  What a fun game, Saturday against Tennessee.  Got to see old friends and eat good food.  Go Gators!

Watched Fringe last night…what a great season opener!  I just love Joshua Jackson almost as much as Tim Tebow.  Can’t wait for this week’s episode.  Started watching Vampire Diaries, not sure if it is a keeper yet or not.  I will give it two more shows to decide.  Gossip Girl opener was ok but didn’t have the same spark as last year.

So much to do…I have over 100 pictures to adjust in photoshop, laundry, dusting, grocery shopping, weeding and shoe switching on my list to complete.  I guess I will have to plug away every night and accomplish something after school.

Friday, I leave for Lexington.  Gators versus Wildcats.  Go Gators!
