September 19

How can it be September 19th already????  Three Gator games down…all wins in the record books.  Ugly first halves but a win is still a win.

So looking forward to the Florida/Kentucky game Saturday.  The first night game for the Gators this season.  Hope the offense pulls it together to make the night a true success.

School tomorrow…star testing, webinars, successmaker, etc…It will be another long week.  Miss working with the kids and staying at one school.  At least the bright side is everyone at the second school is very nice.

Posted pics from the first two Gator games on facebook.  Hope I can post a picture of every scoreboard.  I only post if it is a win.

Not much else going on, feeling bad because of a cold which seems to happen at this time every year.   I haven’t felt good at a Kentucky game in I am not sure when…

Trying to find Piper to take her picture so that I can post pics of all the cats, hard to keep track of 7 cats.

August 29

Two weeks down, how many more to go, not sure too many to count right now…

Kittens still goopey and have spread the virus to Palmer and Percy.  Had Prada and Prescott both at the vet on Thursday for second set of shots, while there they got the 14 day penicillin shot.  Hopefully everyone will be back to normal by second week of September.  So far we’ve spent $750 at the vet on Prada and Prescott, plus another $20 in saline and cotton balls.  I can say it is worth it, I love when they cuddle and purr!  I also love that they don’t have to live outside in the garage anymore.

We have been feeding 5, 3week old kittens with supplement, poor Griffenette (feral cat outside) does not have enough milk for all five so we have been feeding them cat milk through a syringe.  Hope we are doing the right thing…two of them walk around like they are drunk all of the time, not sure if they will make it : (

Worked outside on the septic system today…90 degrees and shoveling dirt and rock don’t really mix.  Now I have to start on cleaning the inside of the house.  After I cool off, I will be cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming and dusting.  At least I already have my clothes out for tomorrow and my lunch packed.

Looking forward to a busy week and then to a fun weekend with the start of NCAA football.  Can’t wait until Saturday, Gators kickoff against Miami of Ohio.   Go Gators!  Thursday, the Ole’ ball coach will kick off SEC football, I’ll be rooting for Spurrier.

I am getting back on my walking schedule beginning Tuesday, yeah!  Need to fit into my Gator tees.  I really need to get back on a schedule, it is hard to exercise when you don’t have one.

August 21

Week one down…had a good first week after a wonderful summer break.  The new job is still undefined but I am making it into something, I will enjoy.

Prescott’s eyes are tearing once again, had to put him back on the eye medicine.  Today we will give it to Prada also as she looks like she is going the same route.   They are so much fun to have in the house.  They love to play and Pixel is their best friend.  Palmer and Piper will play with them but sometimes Palmer forgets he has about 7 pounds on them and plays a little too hard.  Percy and Priscilla just leave them be and are not hissing at them anymore.

Only 14 days until kickoff, can’t wait to be back in Gainesville.  Looking forward to our great seats this year with seatbacks assuring our butts will fit on the bench, LOL!   Some people take up two spaces and leave you with a couple of inches if you don’t have a seatback.  Should be an easy game against Miami of Ohio, looking forward to Brantley’s long pass.

Glad to hear, Harvin is out of the hospital and back at training camp.  What an athlete!  Imagine his numbers if he played an entire season and was able to practice like the rest of the team.  Go Harvin, go!

Going shopping this a.m., Carson’s is having an additional 70% off clearance price, can’t beat it usually find clothes for under $10, brand names too!

August 13

Friday the 13th, uuugghh!  Only 3 more days of summer vacation, I am not ready to go back to the 5:30 a.m. alarm.

Wishing I could work part-time and still receive health benefits.  Called to check on my biopsies and found out they haven’t been read yet.  I had the procedure completed  on July 26.  I might get the results on Monday.

So much to do and I just don’t feel like doing anything today…how to get motivated…

Prada and Prescott are out of quarantine and are adjusting to the other cats and the house.  The meds seem to be working.  They love to play and Palmer and Pixel jump right into the mix.  Percy is still hissing but doesn’t seem to do anything else to them at least not in front of me.  I will try to take pictures today and post them on facebook.

I am so lucky and thankful for my family, my cats and my home…I think I will take that and use it as motivation today : )

July 15

Fiber One for breakfast…what does that say?  Actually I just think it tastes good : )

Having lunch at the Red Apple today with two girlfriends from school and then having dinner at Ciao Bella with two couples.  Should be a good day.

Had a great time in Fort Lauderdale last week.  I got to see all of my South Florida friends, eat good food and enjoy the sunshine.  Also bought all the supplies to redo the condo in Pompano Beach.  We are having new kitchen cabinets, countertop, tile flooring, back splash, painting and chair rail installed.  Hope to get a renter by the middle of August.

Off to New York City tomorrow, I have been eating healthy since I got home from Florida so we can take Cheryl on an eating tour of Manhattan on Saturday ; )  We will be spending three days in Manhattan at the Waldorf Astoria and two days in Long Island at Eric’s cousins’ house.

Trying to decide what to name the kittens in the garage that look like they will be coming into the house when we get back from Charlottesville at the beginning of August.  Still have to get them to a vet to make sure they don’t have any diseases.  Names I am considering ( Prescott, Patton, Plato, Porter and Parker. )  Let me know your thoughts.

Sitting in the car, while Eric is having his business meeting.  We arrived in Boston this morning around 9:30.   On schedule for today:  lunch at Flour Bakery, tour of John Adams House, dinner at Cantina Italiana, eat the best Boston Cream Pie and then workout at the hotel.  Tomorrow a guided tour of Harvard and Fenway Park.

Had a wonderful visit with Tina and the kids in Dallas.  We went to Sabrina’s softball game.  She played first base and pitched.  she struck out two batters, caught two pop ups, and got a hit and scored the teams second run.  she only got to bat once as she was the last batter in the line up.  Played Wii with the kids, went swimming, shopping and walked with Tina.  We ate a lot of good food, BBQ, Cajun, Mexican and Italian.  We also saw Jason and Lori’s new house in Frisco.  It is beautiful!  Had a yummy gnocchi dinner at Isabels.

Thinking about making two purchases:  a macro lens and Wii.  Maybe I will ask Eric to get me one of them for Christmas.

Gators are headed to the World Series…Go Gators!

Had a great time in California…saw family and friends, ate, enjoyed the scenery and ate some more.  Eric’s boss took us to San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito.  It is rated as the number one small hotel in the United States according to Forbes.  It is a beautiful place and the food was excellent.  We ate in the main dining room which has an upscale lodge feeling to it.  I had a green and white asparagus salad, jumbo prawn and noodle dish and a two dessert sampler of pecan pie and chocolate flourless mousse tort.  The company, atmosphere and food were fabulous!  We also ate at Border Grill with Cindy and Richard.  Border Grill in Santa Monica is owned by the Food Network’s Two Hot Tamales.  Enjoyed spending time with Cindy and Richard, wish it could have been more.   Dinner in Malibu with some of Eric’s clients was at Trattoria Tony’s.  We had the Greek feast which could have fed a Greek army, LOL!  Also saw Sharon and Jordon…we had dinner at Cafe Des Artistes.  It was a pretty place off of Melrose in Los Angeles.  Food was good but I wouldn’t say it was the best cheesy dish I have ever eaten as it was for Sunny Anderson on the Best Thing I Ever Ate.

Next stop is Dallas.   Looking forward to seeing Tina, Jason and the kids.  I will get to see Sabrina play softball.  Sam is still swimming like a fish so we will be in the pool everyday, hope it doesn’t rain so the water stays in the upper 80s.

Today, I am having about 30 teachers over for a going away party for the PE teacher.  We will all miss her…

June 5

Aaaahhh…summer vacation is finally here.

The fun begins with a trip to Los Angeles.  First stop will be Border Grill, home of the Food Network’s Two Hot Tamales in Santa Monica.  Looking forward to seeing Cindy and Richard, it has been about 9 months.  Second stop Santa Barbara for dinner with Eric’s big bosses, two very nice men.  Weather forecast, clear skies and high in the 80′s, what more can I ask for to start the summer.

Of course, I will miss the kitties.  This will be the longest time I have been away from Pixel since she was brought into the house.  I hope she won’t be too mad at me when I get home.  At least my mom and dad will be here to take care of all of them.  Still hoping the two little ones in the garage get adopted.

When I get back, I have a training on RDS and Online Registration and then I am hosting a going away party for one of the nicest teachers at school.

Let the fun begin…

May 27

Just finished a yummy lunch catered by the PTO.  I think I ate about 1000 calories but it was so much better than my usual turkey sandwich.  Of course I should be stuffed but after eating a piece of cake and a chocolate chip cookie my mind is screaming for more.  That is the problem…it is so hard to have only a small portion of dessert.

Only 5 more days of school…I have at least two meetings, two 30 piece COWs to clean, 23 more lab computers to clean (delete documents, empty recycle bin, disk clean-up and defrag and then cover up for the summer), one more AlphaSmart cart to empty all of the 90 batteries, take down wall art and clean my desk.  I know I will get it all done but sure seems like time is going by fast.

Summer of fun is fast approaching…first stop Los Angeles.  Hmmmmm, where to go to eat.  Guess I will be researching the Food Network and Zagat.  Looking forward to California it is like being in a different country, mountains, beaches, sun and cool breezes all in one place.  Need to find a good book as I will have time to myself while Eric is at work.

Update on Pixel, she is relaxing and warming up to Eric.  I am so happy because she is such a little sweetie.  Her neck is better, seemed to heal faster without the medicine.  We still have two kittens that need homes.  They are about 7 1/2 weeks old and are very playful.

Break is over and it is back to work ; )

May 14

Shadowed a tech yesterday for my new position in the school corporation.  It was fun, learned a lot and had a good day.  Shadowing continues on Tuesday and then repair training on Friday.

Shooting a wedding tomorrow, looking forward to it, as the couple are very cute.  Hope the weather cooperates and we get to shoot outdoors for some of the group and bridal party shots.

Trying to find homes for the kittens that were born in my garage.  Looks like I found two of them a good home.  My third cousin from Wisconsin and the bride I am photographing tomorrow.  Both kittens will be loved dearly!

Can’t wait to try the new features in Photoshop CS5.  The things it can do, whoo hoo!  The auto content fill looks amazing.

Already planning some of our summer getaways…first stop Los Angeles.  Lunch with friends and dinner with Eric’s boss, the rest is up for grabs.  Already scheduled trips include Boston, NYC and Fort Lauderdale.  Still working on Dallas, Minneapolis and Captiva.

Only 14 more days!
